Below is a growing list of women networks that we admire and work with:

GirlGeek Kampala: Girlgeekkampala is an initiative to create a community that promotes and celebrates Women in the Technology field. We are more of a hands on, all action movement whose main objective is
  • Inspire the next generation of girls to get involved in technology by equipping them with the basic programming skills.
  • Inspire girls to use their acquired skills to build socially conscious technological solutions
  • Give visibility to the opportunities available within the IT field 
  • Increase the number of girls and women in the growing Ugandan ICT scene
Their mission is to infuse programming skills and entrepreneurship skills into girls passionate about IT. 
Women in Technology Uganda: Women In Technology Uganda (WITU) started in 2011 and was registered in Uganda as a non profit in 2012. WITU is empowering young women in Technology and Business by building capacity through training, mentoring and networking. In February 2014, we opened  the First women focused tech hub in Uganda called the WITU Hub. We are located in Kamwokya on Plot 18 Kanjokya street. So far we have trained 480+ young women in Tech and Business and the first intake of school dropouts of about 74 ladies graduated on Friday 27th June 2014. 
Their Mission is to support women’s local capacity building and skills development in Technology and Business in Uganda through training, mentor-ship, networking and knowledge sharing in order to drive economic and sustainable development.
 
Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association Limited: Is an organization whose main objective is to support women entrepreneurs through the provision of Business Development Services and Advocating for enabling environments that meet the specific needs of women in Uganda. 
Mission: Empower women entrepreneurs to create wealth through capacity building,networking and advocacy
Objectives:
  • To train, mentor and counsel women to start, sustain and grow their businesses.
  • To support product development, provide Business Development Services (BDS) and linkages to markets.
  • To build women entrepreneurs' capacity to access both local and international markets.
  • To support business women networking exchanges and mentorship forums.To support the Women Investment Club (WIC), promote a savings and investment culture while encouraging the growth and sustainability of women entrepreneur businesses.
ITU Girls in ICT Day: The Girls in ICT initiative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is a global effort to raise awareness on empowering and encouraging girls and young women to consider studies and careers in ICTs. The initiative is committed to celebrate and commemorate the International Girls in ICT Day on the fourth Thursday of every April as established by the ITU membership. The Girls in ICT Portal is a tool for girls and young women to get an insight into the ICT sector as well as for partners to understand the importance of the International Girls in ICT Day, developed by the Digital Inclusion programme of ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau.

Anita Borg Institute: ABI is a social enterprise founded on the belief that women are vital to building technology that the world needs.  Women in technology are at the heart of ABI’s mission. We are on a quest to accelerate the pace of global innovation by working to ensure that the creators of technology mirror the people and societies who use it.
