Dear All
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing away of Mrs Prossie Odong Lubowa, a promising Computer Systems Engineer and Ugandan member of the AfChix Africa Group. She passed away on the 8th of October 2012. She leaves behind a 3 week old baby boy and husband.
Prossie joined the then Linux Chix Africa Uganda Chapter in 2006. She continued to participate in various activities. She was a remarkable young woman and we remember her for her pro-activeness.
Some of you will remember her participation in the LinuxChix Africa Workshop in Nairobi, Kenya which was held from 12-16 March 2007.
Prossie was also part of the AfNOG workshop that took place in Rabat, Morocco in 2008. She actively participated in celebrating Software Freedom days in Uganda and mentored a number of women in the field of computer science / information technology.
Prossie was laid to rest at her home in Mbuya, Uganda on the 10th of October 2012.
